The 6-Month Cohort builds on the foundation you created this month. You’ll get weekly 1:1 sessions with an expert coach, structured daily practice, and a clear progression to expressing your own thoughts in Spanish — with the people you’ve been learning for.
Apply for the CohortWhere will you be 6 months from now?
People tend to finish the 1-Month Challenge genuinely excited about their Spanish!… And then, without a structured next step, they go back to dabbling — an app here, a podcast there. A year later, they’re roughly where they started.
You’ve built a strong foundation this month, but Spanish still takes deliberate effort to use it well. Without a structured path forward, your Spanish sentence templates will slip away instead of growing. The conversations you’ve been building toward stay just out of reach.
The Cohort picks up exactly where the Challenge leaves off.
The Cohort uses the same curriculum you’ve been using: the podcast, the flashcard drills, the structured daily practice. That continues and builds for the full six months, with expert coaches supporting you throughout.
The daily pace is a bit lighter than the Challenge. If you’ve been putting in about two hours a day, plan on about an hour and a half in the Cohort. It’s the same rigorous approach, but you’ll have a little more room to work deeply.
Every week, you’ll have a one-on-one session with your coach. Our coaches are trained in this method and know exactly where you are in the curriculum. They work with you on the specific skills and sentences you need to move to the next level — your practice, your gaps, your goals — not a generic lesson plan.
Students consistently say our coaches are the best language instructors they’ve ever worked with.
You’ll also have access to your coach throughout the week for questions as they come up. And if you pass the qualifying exam this weekend, you’ll be placed in the cohort track, which adds group workshops to your weekly 1:1 sessions. Small groups of students at your exact level, working through specific skills with a coach: verb conjugations, difficult tenses, listening comprehension.
The Cohort builds logically where the Challenge leaves off. Here's what each stage looks like.
You’ll have covered roughly 60% of the Spanish language. Verbs like querer, hacer, and poder will be part of how you think — not something you have to look up before you can use them.
You’ll be at about 70% of the language, able to hold real conversations across a wide range of topics. You’ll still reach for words here and there, but you’ll use what you know with real confidence and flexibility.
You’ll be at around 80% of Spanish. Nuanced conversations on almost any topic. The ability to say what you actually mean — with the people you’ve been learning for — not just follow along, but actually join in.
“When I compare my Spanish today from where it was a year ago, it’s much easier for me to have a conversation with one of my Mexican neighbors. I feel much more confident.”
“I no longer have to translate everything back and forth between Spanish and English in my head.”
A live session every week focused entirely on where you are — your specific place in the curriculum, your sentences, the skills you need to work on to move forward. Your coach knows the method and knows exactly where you are in it.
Questions that come up between sessions don’t have to wait. Your coach is available throughout the week to keep you on track.
Students who pass the qualifying exam are placed in the cohort track, which includes group workshops alongside the weekly 1:1 sessions. You’ll work in small groups with students at your exact level, drilling specific skills with a coach: verb conjugations, difficult tenses, listening comprehension. Genuine face-to-face practice time beyond your 1:1 sessions.
The quizzing app and audio drills you’ve been using throughout the Challenge don’t stop. They continue and grow with you for the full six months. Every lesson you complete adds more cards and audio resources calibrated to your current level. The daily practice habit you’ve built this month keeps building.
Short stories and audio content matched to where you are each week. You’ll always be hearing Spanish that stretches you just a bit — without overwhelming you.
One of the most requested features we offer. We’ll build custom flashcard sets around the Spanish you actually want to use. Talking with your in-laws? Visiting family? Your practice will be built around the specific conversations that matter most to you.
“I can now hold full conversations completely in Spanish. Even if I don’t know every word, I know how to express myself and navigate the conversation using what I do know.”
Every coach in this program is a trained language professional from the Spanish-speaking world. Gabriela Caldarone, our Director of Coaching, leads a team of specialists with backgrounds in linguistics, pedagogy, and applied language instruction — from Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Spain, and beyond.
“Now I am much more likely to strike up a conversation with a native Spanish speaker — I can actually say what I’m thinking, and my comprehension has improved so much that I can understand the response.”
What graduates have said about the program — collected from interviews, conversations, and notes after they finished.
“I’m confident that if I needed to communicate with someone in Spanish, I would be able to say what I needed to say. Even if I didn’t know a word, I could explain what I’m talking about in other ways.”
Jodi came in having studied Spanish in high school, college, and a three-week immersion program. Her biggest frustration: understanding Spanish speakers when they actually talked to her. She almost dreaded those conversations. After seven months in this program, she took a standardized Spanish assessment. It placed her at B1.4 — nearly a full proficiency level above where she began.
“I now have the confidence to initiate conversations with native Spanish speakers. I look forward to having those conversations. Before, I almost dreaded them.”
“I no longer have to translate everything back and forth between Spanish and English in my head.”
“This week I gave a speech in Spanish to all 80 of my employees. I was delivering bad news but they clapped because instead of needing a translator I was able to convey my meaning entirely in Spanish.”
Katie’s husband’s family is from Puerto Rico. She could read a little, write a little — but speaking in front of the whole family felt impossible.
“I don’t feel lost when the whole family is having a conversation. I can finally join in with them. And they’re impressed with my progress.”
“When I compare my Spanish today from where it was a year ago, it’s much easier for me to have a conversation with one of my Mexican neighbors. I feel much more confident.”
“My hesitancy to try and speak Spanish is gone. And that’s extremely valuable to me.”
“Now I am much more likely to strike up a conversation with a native Spanish speaker — I can actually say what I’m thinking, and my comprehension has improved so much that I can understand the response.”
Melissa wanted to communicate more deeply with her Spanish-speaking patients. She came in as a beginner with almost no sentence structure.
“I just completed the 6-month Cohort and I loved it. I feel like I’m able to hold a conversation — and this will only improve.”
“I can now hold full conversations completely in Spanish. Even if I don’t know every word, I know how to express myself and navigate the conversation using what I do know.”
“It’s like I am part of another community I was previously excluded from.”

More StoriesThe program is $349 a month.
The $39 you paid for this Challenge applies as a credit toward your first month. It comes off automatically when you’re accepted. There’s no long-term commitment. You can cancel any month. And if you request a refund within 30 days of your last payment, we’ll send your money back for any reason.
The way we think about it: the pressure is on us to make your Spanish improve. If we’re not delivering that, you shouldn’t be paying.
“This week I gave a speech in Spanish to all 80 of my employees. I was delivering bad news but they clapped because instead of needing a translator I was able to convey my meaning entirely in Spanish.”
There's a qualifying exam this weekend — and if you've been putting in the work this month, you're ready for it.
The exam covers the material from the first three weeks of the Challenge: the same sentences, the same structures, the same concepts you’ve been drilling. You won’t see anything you haven’t already worked through.
We also use it to make sure we place you with students at the right level. The goal is for the group workshops to be genuinely useful: challenging enough to push you, but not so far ahead that you’re lost.
Fill out your application using the link below, then plan for the exam this weekend. We’ll be in touch once you’ve done both.
Plan on about an hour and a half a day for best results — a bit less than the Challenge has been asking of you this month. The structure is the same: daily lessons, flashcard practice, and weekly sessions with your coach, at a pace that’s sustainable over six months.
The Cohort is a deep coaching program, not just a course. You’re investing in a team of experts to support you, including a personal coach to help with your specific needs, goals, and gaps every single week. For context: High-end linguistic coaching typically starts at $100+ per hour. We’ll be providing weekly coaching sessions, ongoing coach access throughout the week, group workshops, personalized materials, and unlimited access to our software. At $349 a month, that’s well below what you’d pay for everything together.
You can cancel at any time. There’s no long-term commitment and no penalty. There’s also a 30-day refund window on every payment; if you’re not getting results, request to quit for any reason.
You’ll still have options! If you don’t qualify for the cohort, we can offer you our standard 1:1 coaching. You’ll get the same curriculum, one of our expert coaches, and almost all the benefits of the cohort program. You just won’t get the same timeline and we won’t be able to offer the bonus workshops. Either way, we won’t abandon you!
It will look a lot like the Challenge, but with more support and coaching each week. You’ll have a new lesson 5 days a week, as well as flashcard drilling, audio practice, and writing assignments. You’ll have a live 1:1 session with your coach focused on where you are in the curriculum. And you’ll get access to the coaches and your fellow students for support at any time.
Six months from now, you could be in a room full of Spanish speakers — not watching from the outside, but actually part of the conversation.
You’ll be able to say what you actually mean, and understand what they say back. That’s the kind of connection you’ve been building toward.
“I was able to visit my Spanish-speaking family over the holidays. I could understand the vast majority of what was being said. Many told me they were impressed with my ability to communicate and with my pronunciation. Additionally, I had the first real conversation with my in-laws from Mexico in 16 years!”
Applications close Sunday, May 24.
